Associate Professor Christof Högg is a researcher and academic with a broad background specialized in the field of toxicology, especially in the areas of biomonitoring, chemoprevention, carcinogenesis and dentistry. Prof. Högg earned a degree in Chemistry from LMU Munich in 2007. In 2011, Prof. Högg obtained a Ph.D. (Dr. rer. biol. hum.) at the Walther-Straub-Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Medical Faculty at LMU Munich. Prof. Högg continued to contribute to the field as a Research Associate at the Walther-Straub-Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Medicine, LMU Munich. His work during this period continued investigations in the field of pulmonary toxicology, biomonitoring, chemoprevention, and carcinogenesis. In 2013, he expanded his expertise by becoming a Research Associate at the Polyclinic for Dental Conservation and Periodontology at the University Hospital of Munich, affiliated with LMU Munich. This marked a shift in focus towards dental toxicology, where Prof. Högg engaged in toxicological background of dental materials of using advanced analysis techniques such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography.
In May 2022, Prof. Högg achieved an additional significant academic milestone by completing his habilitation in the field of “Toxicology”. This accomplishment was realized at Department of Conservative Dentistry and Periodontology, University Hospital, LMU Munich. Prof. Högg scholarly impact is underscored by a h-index of 19, demonstrating a substantial influence on the field of dental toxicology.
