Annette Wiegand is Professor and Chair of the Department of Preventive Dentistry, Periodontology and Cariology at the University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany.

She graduated from Dental School in Marburg in 2001 and received her doctorate degree in 2002. Dr. Wiegand worked as dentist/scientist at the Universities in Göttingen/Germany (2002-2006) and Zurich/Switzerland (2006-2013). In 2008, she was invited as visiting professor at the Dental School Bauru, Brazil. In 2010, she gained her PhD (Habilitation), and was appointed as Head of the Division of Cariology in the Clinic for Preventive Dentistry, Periodontology and Cariology, Zurich, in 2013. In 2013, she was then taking up her present position.
